Bug#44384: suggestion to apt-get source
Package: apt
Version: 0.3.12
Severity: wishlist
Hi,
Could it be possible to add option --diff-only to source command of apt-get?
This would only download the .diff.gz of a non-native package.
A person, like me, who likes to keep his system very bleeding-edge using
the debs often needs to download the diff.gz's of an existing debs to produce
a very latest deb for example using the CVS tree of some program. This
ftp process could be history if you could do it with apt-get. But currently
apt-get also downloads the .dsc and .orig.gz files also which in this
case are totally useless.
TIA,
