This is in reference to the /var/lib/dgpk/methods/apt/update script.
output is
/usr/lib/dpkg//methods/apt/update: 21: Syntax error: "(" unexpected (expecting "fi")
update available list script returned error exit status 2.
Press RETURN to continue.
when sh is linked to ash rather than bash. Changing the #!/bin/sh line to #!/bin/bash
makes the error go away.
