apt-get feature



Could the ftp/http methods add a second-level recovery?  Ie after timing out,
sleep for a little while (a minute ?) and then check if there is network
connection [ ie new dynamic ppp link with potentially a different ip address
] and then retry again ?  

This is essentially the same algorithm I employ manually right now. Having
this in the code would make life a lot easier for folks like myself who get
cut off by their ISPs.  [ Yeah right, pay for unlimited, but get max'ed out
timeslices. Sucks. ]
