Yes apt in slink should > use 2.9 but it was not a release goal to migrate libstdc++ in slink.. Actually I'm not on -policy, I'll subscribe though.. Now, the reason for filing is simple, its gone now, its been gone for a while, no-one seems to be doing anything about it, freeze is coming soon, thus packages are sevearly broken at this point..
