Hi Martin, thanks for the report.

looking at the various pointers, it looks like the spice viewer deliberately
changed its behavior, breaking every DE in the process. While there might be
good reason to do this (one bug report mentions race conditions), it would
have been wise on their part to coordinate this with the window manager,
especially since they put the burden to implement this on them.

If you're interested in this, I advise you to explain that in a wishlist bug
in the upstream bugzilla at https://bugzilla.xfce.org. I would advise you not
to use words like above (“needs to be fixed” for example) and remember that
people are working on Xfce on their free time.
