Massive logentries "(WW) AMDGPU(0): get vblank counter failed: Invalid argument"

Hello!

For some months now my X.org Xserver writes thousands of the same lines into
the logfile /var/log/Xorg.0.log:

This entry is repeated about 50 time per second and my current logfile grew to
about 250 MB in the last 36 hours.

At first this only happend when the monitors have been switched off, but now
those line are also written, just when the screen lock is activated.

I ran /usr/share/bug/xserver-xorg-video-amdgpu/script which created a 241 MB
large file I didn't want to add here. :) The first "get vblank counter failed:"
entries start around line 800 (61kb) which I could provide if wanted.

I don't know if this is the right place for this or if this is an upstream
problem. And how to supply the right information about the problem if I had to
create a bug report.

I found https://lists.debian.org/debian-x/2011/03/msg00099.html but the
mentioned patch to quell everything after 5 messages seems not to work in my
case.

What can I do to get rid of those messages. Since it's not possible to rotate
the logfile var/log/Xorg.0.log without restarting the Xserver the logfile grows
over time until the filesystem is full.

BTW: Before the system was rebooted yesterday the Xorg(?) process hat
accumulated 29 GB RES-RAM according to top.

This is a testing system:
