It still hangs when I try to install.  After it hung the first time I
removed the left over locks and tried to reinstall and it hangs again.
Here is where it hangs.

(Reading database ... 165341 files and directories currently installed.)
Preparing to replace xserver-xorg 1:7.4+3 (using .../xserver-xorg_1%
3a7.4+3_i386.deb) ...
Unpacking replacement xserver-xorg ...
Processing triggers for hal ...

I let it sit there for 10 minutes or so.
