Your problem looks like the upstream bug at the URL above. Unfortunately,
the nVidia maintainer tagged it as "wontfix" because the
"nv driver can't support VBIOS-controlled hotkey switching".

So I am marking this as wontfix too, sorry :(
Fortunately, ctrl-alt-f1 is not too bad as a workaround :/
