Yes. We need to forward this bug upstream. Could you take a screenshot
or a photo of the display to illustrate the problems?

Ok.
Let's keep the previous bug report (#430885) for the "1280x1024 not
being used by default" problem (which is almost fixed). I have cloned it
into a new bug report (this one, #436942) to deal with your black border
and distorted display. Please reply to the right one :)
