Ok there is no preferred mode at all, it probably explains why you don't
get 1280x1024 by default and why you need to choose a PreferredMode in
xorg.conf or run xrandr --output VGA --mode 1280x1024 after starting X.
It's not clear there is something better to expect soon here.

Which one ?
1) The wrong is chosen by default ? expected as explained above.
2) "it kind'a distorted" ?
3) "the screen was placed to the left side and on the right side I add
about 50 pixels of black color." ?
