Comments/Problems:

In the X configuration file xorg.conf, in the Screen section,
the "Modes" lines had blank in place of 1280x1024, which was
specified during the install. After install the lines were
               Modes "" "640x480"
and had to be manually edited to
               Modes "1280x1024" "640x480"

As the version of XOrg that fixes this migrates to testing today, let's
just close this report.
