Bug#242605: xserver-xfree86: [i18n] Why american keyboard layout?

Package: xserver-xfree86
Version: 4.3.0-7
Severity: normal

Good Morning,

I just tested the debian-installer and I'm quite impressed how easy it
has become to install and configure X.

But: During the installation I configured a german keyboard layout.
However: XFree is confiurated with "pc104" keyboard "us" layout, instead
of "pc105" and "de".

Of course it's not a big deal, since you just need to run
dpkg-reconfigure, and change that. But what is the meaning of a painless
configuration, when quite many people (all wo doesn't us american
keyboards) need to run the configuration again?

So could you please change the default values from us, to whatever the
used set during the installation process?

Yours sincerely,
  Alexander
