Many URLs change on Alioth without pre- or post- announce, some keep
backward compatibility, some not, and backward compatibility gets
dropped randomly, that’s why I’d prefer not to spread Alioth URLs in
many places if that can be avoided.

That’s extra work: why not concentrating them in one place (where
they’re already available)?

Sorry, I meant specifically:
- - https://www.debian.org/devel/website/using_cvs for webwml;
- - https://www.debian.org/doc/cvs for the DDP.

Those pages give more information about the VCSes, how to use them, and
how to contribute to these projects than the Alioth URLs will ever give.

Regards

David
