I do not understand, what you mean :-)
I have some programs which create ~/.<program> directories with
'chmod 700'.
Where is the problem ? Nobody elsev as the owner can access it.
Even my fetchmail wraper tdfetchmail refuse to work, if the users
directory ~/.tdfetchmail has not 0700 and the files 0600.
The $USER will get immediatly an error message.
