Fine for me.  What di consider a sensible time span before asking for
removal?

I prefer following your advise and let this package fade out from
Debian.  Regarding the benefit of my efforts:  I'm keen on demonstrating
newcomers fixing RC bugs.  I think this is worth even on low popcon
packages ... as long as these packages have some future.

It would be helpful if you give some hint when we might ask for
removal.  What about beginning of next year?
