Bug#1116967: ITP: linux-gpib-user -- User tools for GPIB devices

I make pretty extensive use of HP GPIB devices at home - I'm using the out of tree dkms module today but don't love it.

I'd be delighted to sponsor uploads for any of this ecosystem that grows a willing Debian maintainer

I intend to package the user-space parts of linux-gpib. GPIB (IEEE
488.2) is a parallel bus that is used
in e.g. digital multimeters or logic analyzers. Those can be chained
together and then be queried via commands sent
from a controller. The kernel parts are currently being upstreamed and
are in staging; the userspace bits provide a library,
documentation, python bindings and tools to interface with GPIB devices.

best,
