Hi,

note that the gpib kernel module now has been accepted in linux-staging  [0]. It will likely be in mainline with 6.17.

The userspacetools for gpib [1] however would be nice to have in Debian; I am likely to package them for $work.

Currently I need to iron out some kinks to get the python bindings installed into the correct directory; but apart from that, it already builds fine for me.

Let me know if you want to work together on those. IMO this bugreport should be closed then on the module landed in mainline and is enabled in Debian kernel builds.
