Bug#1092862: ITP: gnudip -- GNU Dyamic IP protocol server and client
It is a reasonable question - software authors do move on to other
projects, and a packaging challenge is integrating it with systemd and
other more recent software.
The GnuDIP protocol is used by FreedomBox, as described at
https://wiki.debian.org/FreedomBox/Manual/DynamicDNS
It is offered by some DDNS providers, and built into some routers.
It you are only require a client then ddclient supports many providers.
