   This plugin is intended to replace most of the usage of the
   libart based C extension _renderPM which has been shown to
   have issues when rendering complex documents.

 - without this package, one cannot use package python-biopython
   together with python-reportlab version 4, since
   python-reportlab version 4 provides no longer
   the extension _renderPM cited above.
 - I shall keep maintaining it, shared with python-team/packages in
   https://salsa.debian.org/python-team/packages/python-pycairo
