FYI, I started a transition for a new version of json-c (0.13.1+dfsg-2), cf: #904418 https://release.debian.org/transitions/html/auto-json-c.html It is blocked on some reverse dependencies that do not build cleanly with the new version, but we can get that in after Buster is released.
