Description : Convert freedesktop files to a format used by various WMs
xdg-menu generates menus for WMs using the Free Desktop menu standard. You can install archlinux-xdg-menu from the official repositories.
The following WMs are supported:
twm
ion3
WindowMaker
fvwm2
icewm
blackbox
fluxbox
openbox
awesome
KDE, Gnome, Xfce, Enlightenment are already XDG compatible.
I am considering adding it to the Perl Debian group repository.
Getting hold of the source code takes a bit of hunting down,
but actually it is an Archlinux community project, so there maybe similar
projects.
What archlinux actually stores is the file:
https://www.archlinux.org/packages/community/any/archlinux-xdg-menu/
Clicking on the "Source link" ultimately takes you to the PKGBUILD file:
https://projects.archlinux.org/svntogit/community.git/tree/trunk/PKGBUILD?h=packages/archlinux-xdg-menu
This specifies a location and a current version:
pkgver=0.7.6.2
source=("http://archlinux-stuff.googlecode.com/files/arch-xdg-menu-$pkgver.tar.gz")
md5sums=('e4aadc2a05a8e8330c95c22548a4fcfb')
