Fastd came to fame in the Freifunk WLAN communities. Debian
is frequently seen as a bridge between the public Internet
and the individual comnunities. The cross-platformness of
Debian renders Debian's adoption of this developer-maintained
package to be of particular interest, preparing for the
encrypted information exchange also between embedded devices.
