node-tar contains the tar module for Node.js.

It allow packing, extracting, and parsing of tar archives in JavaScript.


node-tar is required for node-get-down (#779302) which in turn is
required for closure-util (#774562).

The node-tar package will be maintained in the JavaScript team.
