Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
* Package name : python3-sfml2
Version : 2.1

Programming Lang: Python/C++
Description : Python binding for the latest version of libsfml
I humbly request that a package be created for python2/3 bindings
of libsfml2 (pref. python3, but that's my bias). libsfml2 contains
fairly significant improvements over the current version in the
python-sfml package, 1.5.1.
Thank you,
Simon Heath

Hi Simon,
pySFML (the upstream for the python*-sfml packages) does not use the
same version scheme as SFML does. The current version of pySFML is 1.3
and is compatible with SFML 2.1. The 1.5.1 you see is actually a "fake"
version number because pre-2.0, python-sfml DID follow the version
numbers of SFML!
So all of these are already compatible with SFML 2.
python-sfml | 1.5.1.is.1.3+dfsg-1
python-sfml | 1.5.1.is.1.3+dfsg-1
python-sfml-dbg | 1.5.1.is.1.3+dfsg-1
python-sfml-doc | 1.5.1.is.1.3+dfsg-1
python3-sfml | 1.5.1.is.1.3+dfsg-1
python3-sfml-dbg | 1.5.1.is.1.3+dfsg-1
I've also asked for the version numbers to be changed since this is
obviously quite confusing.

Hopefully that sorts everything out,
James
