Apart from talking to ftp-masters, I don't know.

Where is the latest/greatest set of packaging repositories and/or
packages to look at?

I'd love to evaluate it on Ubuntu, after informal discussion with
Ubuntu ftp-master, I got an agreement that ZoL is a technology we'd be
willing to include in the Ubuntu Archive.
