I would like to request to adopt nas. It is still showing as
needing help, but the RFH seems to indicate it is no longer being
used by the existing maintainer, leading me to believe it is close
to being orphaned.

Hi Wes,
your claim "leading me to believe it is close to being orphaned" is
actually quite ridiculous considering that the last maintainer upload
for nas was just 2 months ago (and this bug would anyway not be a
correct way of MIA handling).
Please discuss with Steve (Cc'ed) how you could help with maintaining
the package.
