IMO it *must not* delete files installed by dpkg, and I think the description is
quite clear: "modules installed from CPAN", not "from the Debian archive" just
like e.g. cpanminus, CPANPLUS, cpan do not install Debian packages. But maybe a
note in the manpage would help?
