Bug#634060: binutils-z80 -- Should this package be removed?

I skimmed over RC bugs open against orphaned packages, and stumbled over
this one.
On a first glance it seems trivial to fix (just update build-depends,
and build-with, the symlink in the orig.tar.gz and the filename in
debian/rules, and that's it), however I retain from uploading my fix, as
I've no way to test it.
Looking at popcon, there seems be a handfull of users, but most seem to
just have it installed but not in active use.
I might be a bit fast, given that the package was orphaned in July and
RC buggy "just" since August, but I'm honestly wondering, if it wouldn't
be better to just remove it.
