Bug#614517: ITP: libgit2 -- Git core methods library

Hello,

If you are planning to maintain libgit2 library in Debian (making upgrades, changing soname, etc.) then you might be interesting in compatibility test results [1] for this library in our data base [2] of compatibility problems.

We've also selected a bunch of recent Debian ITP requests relating to C/C++ and Java libraries and loaded them to data base: assimp [3], libjio [4], ziparchive [5], json-simple [6], twitter4j [7], libsafewrite [8] and libgtextutils [9]. Hope these test results will be helpful for someone.

BTW
We are planning to extend our data base. So any suggestions to include libraries (C/C++ or Java) are very welcome!

libgit2 is a portable, pure C implementation of the Git core methods
provided as a re-entrant linkable library with a solid API, allowing
you to write native speed custom Git applications in any language
