At least, for now, librecad appears to be a suitable alternative to qcad. git-repo is set up, Ubuntu Natty is planning on using it. Will upload to debian soon. http://git.debian.org/?p=debian-science/packages/librecad.git I'll request qcad be removed once librecad is in testing.
