Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name    : animate.sty
  Version         :
  Upstream Author : Alexander Grahn
* URL or Web page : http://www.ctan.org/tex-archive/macros/latex/contrib/animate/
* License         : LPPL
  Description : Create PDF animations from graphics files and inline graphics.

    This package provides an interface to create portable, JavaScript driven PDF
    animations from sets of (vector) graphics or rasterized image files or from
    inline (vector) graphics, such as LaTeX-picture, PSTricks or pgf/TikZ
    generated pictures, or just from typeset text.

    It supports the usual PDF making workflows, i. e. pdfLaTeX and LaTeX ->
    dvips -> ps2pdf (Ghostscript).

    The resulting PDF can be viewed in current Adobe Readers on all supported
    platforms.

Asymptote uses animate.sty for creating animations, so it would be nice
to have animate.sty in Debian. It should be a low-maintenance package.
However, I don't have time to maintain another package as I'm already
far behind on my packaging duties. If anyone in the TeX maintainers
team is interested in packaging this, it would be great. (Or is there a
generic package for collecting miscellaneous LaTeX extras that aren't in
texlive?)

Thanks.

animate.sty is now shipped in texlive-latex-extra

$ dlocate animate.sty
texlive-latex-extra: /usr/share/texmf-texlive/tex/latex/animate/animate.sty

So I'm closing this RFP.

  Ruben Molina
