Why di you think about maintaining this package under the Debian
Multimedia [1] team's umbrella?

Cheers.

Sure, anybody who would be willing to mentor the package would be great.  Is there some special protocol to maintain the package under the Debian Multimedia team?  As far as I can tell, the protocol is to file an ITP bug report, and then upload the package to mentors.debian.net.  How would the Debian Multimedia team fit into this?
