Isn't it possible to cherry-pick the fix for #566559 in the stable version of 
the package, then upload it to testing-proposed-updates and ask for a freeze 
exception as that was done for opensync (see #599472)? If the removed version 
is squeeze was greater than the one in stable, I think the cherry-pick should 
be done in this version istead to ensure an upgrade is possible for testing 
users which kept dpsam after its removal.
