gremind allows you to remind yourself of events and appointments
and notifies you a single or periodic times.

It stays in the system tray and provides a graphical interface to
add and manage your events. Every time an event happens, it outputs
a notification in the system tray and optionally plays a sound.

I've lost interest in packaging this program, so I'm closing this
ITP. For anybody interested in taking over this package, I'll leave
