Bug#497776: O: glunarclock -- GNOME Lunar Clock moon applet

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal

I intend to orphan the glunarclock package.

Technically, the package is in a very good shape and nearly bug-free (there is a bashism in debian/rules for which I already provided a patch in the BTS and the debian/copyright file needs to be revised). Upstream is friendly and responsive, but hasn't worked on the software for more than 3 years now.

Maybe the package is of interest for the Debian GNOME maintainers team. However, I believe it makes much more sense to help upstream integrate the code and the artwork into the gnome-panel applets. Wishlist bugs regarding this issue have been files in the BTS [0] and upstream [1]. As soon as this has happened, the glunarclock package should be removed from the archive IMHO.

The package description is:
GNOME Lunar Clock Applet displays the current phase of the
moon as an applet for the GNOME panel. It also provides
various astronomical data such as clock functions, rise and
set times for the moon, and the current coordinates of the
	moon.
