As you may see, I've made some QA uploads recently, addressing some of the most important bugs in the package. FYI, the file debian/patches/append_option.diff contains a patch which adds an option so apt-spy appends the data rather than overwriting everything. At the moment isn't enabled because the way the -A option was added to getopt it expects a parameter to be set and that should be fixed.
