Subsonic is a web-based media streamer similar to Ampache or SlimServer.
It streams your music over HTTP while you add songs from your collection
to the active playlist from within a web browser. Subsonic is written in
Java 5 and runs in a servlet container like Tomcat, Resin or JBoss.
