Bug#391473: orphaning systemimager packages

retitle 391473 O: systemimager -- Automate GNU/Linux installs and upgrades over a network
thanks

Its been nearly a year since I filed this bug requesting an adopter
for the systemimager package. I'd hoped to attract one or more
developers who were willing to work with me for a few releases before
taking over ownership of the package to assure a smooth transition -
its becoming clear that this is unlikely to happen anytime soon.

There has been some work towards packaging a newer release, mostly
from Geoffroy Vallee. This work is available on upstream's svn server,
though in a separate repository from the upstream code:

  http://svn.systemimager.org/
  svn://svn.systemimager.org/svn/systemimager-debian/trunk

There has also been some work in the upstream repository to make it
possible to build debs directly. I haven't reviewed that code at all,
so I can't say anything (negative or positive) about the quality.

There have been requests by a maintainer to take over this
package. I've politely objected before, given the absence of any
patches or evidence that this maintainer would work well with the
existing contributors/upstream. I still hope whoever takes over this
package takes a look at the pre-existing work from Geoffroy and others
and tries to keep an open dialog with upstream, but at this point the
packages have grown too stagnant for me to continue standing in the
way to try and guarantee this.

Of course, I still plan to remain active in the Debian community and
I'm quite happy to answer questions/consult with whomever takes over
this package.
