There is already someone who has created a Debian-package for
dfu-programmer <http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=416436>.

The 'problem' at the moment is finding a sponsor (Debian developer who
uploads it to the Debian repositories). See
<http://www.mail-archive.com/debian-mentors@lists.debian.org/msg48941.html>.

Finding a sponsor is not always easy. I maintain the picprog package
for Debian and it has taken a long time ( > 3 years) before someone has
sponsered¹ my picprog package.
