Quoting from the above URL: "libmtp is an implementation of Microsoft's
Media Transfer Protocol (MTP) in the form of a library suitable
primarily for POSIX compliant operating systems. We implement MTP Basic,
the stuff proposed for standardization. MTP Enhanced is for Windows
only, if we implement it, well that depends..."
Various applications including amarok and gnomad2 support libmtp as long
as they are compiled with the corresponding flag (guides over udev
functionality found here for example:
http://amarok.kde.org/wiki/Media_Device:MTP ). Thanks for your space and
time.
