This library is a pure-Python port of Mozilla's encoding autodetection algorithm, as used in Firefox, SeaMonkey, Thunderbird, IceWeasel, etc.  It is capable of identifying over two dozen encodings, listed here: http://chardet.feedparser.org/docs/supported-encodings.html
