In that case, I think it is appropriate, unlike the i18n/l10n folks
who seem to hate those notes nowadays...

I would rather say:

  Presently, ntfs-3g is available for all Debian architectures.
  However, upstream says it only works for 32-bit little-endian
  systems.

Debconf templates should not use the first person, so I would say:
