Bug#388650: Question about discus package format

Hi Ron,
I'm going to adopt your former package, discus.

I got a question about its format: it's a non-native package, thus why
its source package is distributed as a .tar.gz file instead of classic
.orig.tar.gz + .diff.gz ones?

I'd like to know the reason, since I'm going to convert it in a
non-native package.
