Bug#331528: ITP: debinstaller -- a graphical frontend for installing local .deb packages

And what is your point here exactly? Debinstaller is not good enough, because it dont spit user friendly messages?
Oh wait, so is dpkg! Since debinstaller is just a simple FRONTEND i dont see any problems with it.

Its not -that- hard to make debinstaller check for sudo, so its still not an issue.

Im not trying to be offensive, but that sounds really pathetic.
You suggest people to abandone their work and go write patches for popular package menagers.
Sure, it might be the "right way", but somewhy i dont see you run to write that patches yourself.
The reality is that we have debinstaller which is a nice way to install a single package without that mad typing,
and it produces exactly the same results as you would expect from dpkg. Moreover, I found it to be very time saving and
helpfull, but i understand if Debian is too "elite" to save its users time.

And as a reply for Christoph's comment
> Lol. If the user had a clue, he wouldn't need debinstaller.
Lol. Maybe the user is lazy and likes to point and click?
