Yup ... and it makes 35 months since my NM application was submitted
(2004-01-28). I have been told by many people that these are
reasonable time frames for the Debian project.

Can you guys see that the NM is horribly broken? It seems that people
get upset if a package has to wait but nobody cares about the tedious
delays inherent in the NM process.

It isn't much fun being on this side of the fence.

Anyway ... it certainly is not my intention to use the ITP mechanism
to hold a package ransom as a way of protesting the NM delays. Clearly
there is strong demand for this package so I must capitulate and push
this package up my priority list to the top.

Otavio ... looks like you get to be the sponsor for this package. Is
that still okay? The timing isn't great because I leave on a 10 day
business trip tomorrow. I usually work on debian projects at the
weekend while on travel so I should have something for you soon after I
return. Is that ASAP enough? :-)

I am going to initiate a conversation with Otavio to discuss the
technical details of this package, this will not be copied to the BTS
so if anybody else is interested let me know and I'll copy them.

Steve
