Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name    : guile-gobject
  Version         : 0.5.3
  Upstream Author : Andy Wingo <wingo@pobox.com>, Ariel Rios <ariel@gnu.org>,
                    Martin Baulig <martin@gnome.org>
* URL or Web page : http://www.nongnu.org/guile-gtk/
* License         : GPL
  Description     : Guile bindings for GTK+ 2 and GLib/GObject

guile-gobject provides Guile bindings for GTK+ 2 and its dependencies
(GDK, Pango, ATK and GLib/GObject).

It contains a wrapper engine that builds upon g-wrap and uses the
auto-generated (from C headers) .defs files that are also used by the
Python GTK+ 2 bindings. This wrapper engine is usable for third-party
bindings of C APIs as well, especially APIs based on the GLib Object
System (GObject).

</long-description>

Note that I plan (and actually have done already a bit) to do upstream
work on this package, too. The package depends on g-wrap
(Debian package libgwrapguile1), which needs some upstream changes
to make new guile-gobject features work. I probably won't upload until
these issues are sorted out.

Furthermore, I'll break the binary package down into the core
(GLib/Gobject wrappers) and the GTK2 part of it.
