Bug#298602: RFP: klibido -- KDE usenet news binary grabber
Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist
* Package name : klibido
Version : 0.2.1.1
Upstream Author : Alessandro "Bauno" Bonometti <bauno@inwind.it>

Description : KDE usenet news binary grabber
Klibido automates the tedious task of grabbing binaries off
usenet that are split across dozens of posts.
The main features of Klibido are:
-automatic joining and decoding of multi-part posts
-multiple servers support, with priorities and fallback servers if some
articles are not available on some servers
-queue balancing: KLibido spreads the bytes load across servers with the
same priority
-multiple download threads per server support, with the ability to add or
remove threads "on the fly"
-KParts interface for previewing posts (.nfo, images, etc...) inside the
program
-pause, resume, cancel, and prioritize downloads
Klibido is still in beta stage, and as such some components may not
work as expected and may even crash the program. However, the author states:
"if you treat it gently :-], it will work, and I've used it to download
two hundreds or so of Gigabytes without any major issue."
There's already a basic debian/ directory in the source
provided by Gonéri Le Bouder in 2001.
