How about putting the DFSG/GPL-compatible source on Savanna (or
similar), so that there is a (new) canonical place to get VCG.  Of
course, politely ask the original authors about their opinion first.

But I am by no means going to be obstructive over this.  I just noticed
the mismatch while inspecting the package.

That thread talks about possible problems with the Common Public License
(CPL).  The conclusion seems to be that the CPL is OK.  Anyways, VCG is
under GPL, so I fail to see the connection...?
