http://www.debian.org/doc/developers-reference/ch-beyond-pkging.en.html#s-sponsoring

Especially 7.5.2 with
"The Maintainer field of the control file and the changelog should list
the person who did the packaging, i.e., the sponsoree. The sponsoree
will therefore get all the BTS mail about the package.

If you prefer to leave a more evident trace of your sponsorship job, you
can add a line stating it in the most recent changelog entry."

Do it right please or dont do it.

Ian: a.) You need to retitle the Bug if you really want to adopt it.
     b.) I suggest asking -mentors
c.) If b. doesnt help (and you really tried) come back to me.
