It's what would otherwise be set if the debian/rules didn't add in
CFLAGS; there's a section near the top of configure.in that tests for
GCC and sets the CFLAGS to '-g -Wall -O3'. I haven't done any
benchmarking, but it seemed logical that a program like rzip would
benefit from the flags -O3 implies, so I left it in.

Thank you very much. I got the confirmation mail; it said manual
editing of an override file was needed and that is done once a week or
so, so I suppose by next Monday at latest it should be in.
May I tap you in the future for an upload of a different package two?
